The contemporary prints in Vledder are made by the best artists. Artists that are in all handbooks about contemporary art and frequently honoured by their own or a foreign country with a postage stamp. Bram Druil from Wapse, however, good as he may be, is not represented!
Prints
There are various categories of prints: lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, wood engravings, linocuts, screenprints, copper engravings, etc. Modern prints are produced in limited editions, and therefore numbered in pencil, which makes a print an exclusive and original work of art, but not one of a kind. It is made in a usually small edition and signed by the artist.
Prints are not to be mistaken for posters. Posters are mass produced, printed in large numbers just like newspapers, magazines and supermarket propaganda.
