Wednesday through Sunday 11-16 hours. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
April 1st - Jan. 2nd. Open on Monday only at Easter, Whitsun, Christmas, NewYear's Eve and New Year's Day

Guided tours

The guided tours in the Museums are an essential experience. There is only one fake art museum in the World. The atmosphere here is something in between The Antiques Roadshow and stand-up comedy. You hear surprising things, you will be informed on the value of a work of art, you will learn how to distinguish between an authentic work of art and a forgery.

Guided tours in Dutch, Low Saxon, English, French, German, Frisian are available for groups of at least ten persons speaking the same language between 11.30 and 14.30

Dutch Railroad: Intercity direction Leeuwarden (get off at Station Steenwijk) Reisplanner NS. Then choose one of the following options:

  2. Bus 235 (Connexxion) direction Borger (not during weekends) Get off at Vledder, stop Brink/Museums.
  3. Bus 17 (Arriva) direction Oosterwolde. Get off near Hotel Frederiksoord and walk, or hitchhike the 2 km to Vledder. Sometimes on weekdays you can change for line 235.
  4. Regiotaxi: see column in front of intercitystation Steenwijk.
  5. Order a taxi at Taxi Menger, 0521-381253 (not the cheapest solution)
